Fort Loudoun State Historic Area

2016 Award of Distinction

Fort Loudoun State Historic Area received the Award of Distinction for an exhibit. A new exhibit consisting of a tent and accoutrements for five or six soldiers now gives visitors an example of the challenges faced by common enlisted men on campaigns in the wilderness, such as Fort Loudoun (1756 – 1763). The items are based on actual period lists and records. Constructed to travel, the exhibit is easily taken to schools and other groups.
