Dennis Craig Stewart

2015 Award of Distinction

The Real Life Homer Simpson is a very well researched account of a real-life Homer Simpson of Cleveland, Tennessee, a former police chief and World War I hero who was convicted of murder, sentenced to death, and executed in the electric chair in 1929.  Stewart’s research not only allows Simpson to speak from the grave, but we also hear from family, friends, attorneys, and inmates who served time with him to prove that while Simpson was guilty of bank robbery, he did not commit murder.
