On Saturday, March 28, 2020, the Jonesborough Genealogical Society will host its monthly Genealogy Day with speaker, Ann Blomquist, an experienced genealogist who serves as the administrator for the First Families of Tennessee project of the East Tennessee Historical Society. She serves as the editor of Tennessee Ancestors for East Tennessee Historical Society and the Jefferson County Genealogical Society Journal. She teaches genealogy classes, and presents a variety of genealogy workshops and is the author of 13 genealogy books. Her talk will be titled, "Using Maps for Genealogy," which will emphasize the importance of using maps to locate where ancestors lived. She will demonstrate sources and samples of printed maps in books and online, topographic maps, and deed mapping software.
